Palonsky: “We didn’t rush in”

Manama, Bahrain, July 18, 2019 – Argentina played patiently in running their system to win 3-1 (25-19, 26-24, 22-25, 25-18) against Egypt in Thursday’s Pool B match in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship.

Argentina coach Martin Lopez: “We were able to follow our game plan and this was the key to today’s success.”

Argentina captain Luciano Palonsky: “We didn’t rush in and we were able to achieve what we wanted which is to win. In this way, we can be more calm in our next matches. I think this win is very important. Taking the first match makes us lose all the pressure.”

Egypt coach Hossameldin Eissawy: “It was a tough game between the two teams. Most of my players were not in the best condition today. I hope we can play well in the next matches.

“I have to tell my players today that we must forget this match, and look forward to the next. I think we need experience as a team and we will take it in this championship.”

Egypt captain George Bakhit: “It was a very difficult match against a very good team. I hope our players can perform better. Not all the players have had experience with the national team in the World Championship before.”
