Attention key to victory – China captain Chen Leiyang

Manama, Bahrain, July 20, 2019 – China kept their composure against hosts Bahrain to stay undefeated in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship, as they recorded a 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18) victory on Saturday.

China captain Chen Leiyang: “We played our best. The players did their job but it was really tough. There were a lot of difficult points but we paid attention to the game and we won it.

“For the next round, we need to stay focused and find a way to win our matches.”

Bahrain coach Yusuf Khalifa: “This result does not change anything for us. It will be the same for us moving forward. More important for our group now is the recovery time. Things are just going to be more difficult from now on. But with a high level, we will try to do something.”

Bahrain player Jassim Matrook
: “All our players are now very tired. Last night we played against Morocco in five sets. We have qualified for the second round and that is what matters most.”
